If he shall not lose his reward who gives a cup of cold water to his thirsty neighbor, what will be the reward of those who by putting books into the hands of those neighbors, open to them the fountains of eternal life?
-Thomas A. Kepis
I have never known any distress that an hour's reading did not releive....
Book of the Month:
Thoughts of St. Therese
The Little Flower of Jesus
This is a great pocket sized book which I just adore. My copy is tattered and "well loved". I reference it quite often and hope that you will find it as beautiful as I have found. Truly a "guide" for living.
(This is the info from the back flap)
Composed of 328 brief quotations, arranged under 20 different topics such as love of God, love of neighbor, faith, humility, detachment, confidence, self abandonment, gratitude, zeal, and suffering, The Thoughts of St. Therese consists of the Saint's own words and writings from the Story of a Soul (her autobiography), Counsels and Reminiscences, and her letters.
This book will be a revelation to many that the "Little Flower of Jesus" despite having lived and taught "The Little Way of Spiritual Childhood", beloved and employed by so many people was nonetheless an intrepid, ardent, dedicated, and disciplined soul, a truly great, great saint and one who has a message for us all.
For St. Therese possessed, as these pages so amply demonstrate, an intimate knowledge of our Faith and of Sacred Scripture; she totally embraced suffering for the love of God; and she abandoned herself so completely to our Lord that she did not even concern herself over her own spiritual welfare. And in the process, she acquired a profound Catholic wisdom untypical of a young woman who only lived to be 24, a wisdom which she communicates to us here so simply and so beautifully. It is impossible to imagine that any reader will come away from this little book without having been profoundly influenced by this great "little" soul who was total transformed by her love of God.

(These are where I get my books. I am in no way affiliated with any of these stores and do not receive any monies from them. I just happen to think that they are terrific resources..... :)
Books & Publishers: They have a fantastic Catholic book list and have some hard to find books here. You can send away for a free catalog.
As the name says, books and gifts are at this store. I found a book here that I had searched all over the internet...a wide variety of Catholic goods.
Also, don't forget your local library and your church may even have its own library....FREE BOOKS are the best kind :) Also, don't forget to donate your books to your local library or Church once you are done reading them (unless you are like me and love to read books over and over again...still, though, I do try to make a donation at least twice a year....)

Smile at someone today--just because
Write down five "blessings" you have in your life
If you are considering a new hair style (and you have lots of hair), consider donating your hair to Locks of Love (link is on my causes page) Locks of Love gives wigs to children who have lost their hair due to chemo or illness.....Don't just let that hair fall to the ground and be swept away.....
What's in a Smile?
A Smile costs nothing, but gives much.
It enriches those who receive,
Without making poorer those who give.
It takes but a moment,
Yet the memory of it may last forever.
A smile creates happiness in the home,
Fosters goodwill in business,
And is the sign of friendship.
It brings rest to the weary,
Cheer to the discouraged,
Sunshine to the sad,
And is nature's best antidote to trouble.
Yet a smile cannot be bought, begged,
Borrowed or stolen;
For it is something of no value to anyone,
Unless it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile.
Give them one of yours.
No one needs a smile so much
As he who has none to give.
